Youth Track and Field commonly referred to as "Junior Track" has many age levels for boys and girls.  The USA Track & Field (USATF) Youth guidelines 8yrs and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18.  As well as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) the world governing body of Track and Field.

*Please check with your federation, some throw TurboJav and some throw FinnFlier.

300gr TurboJav for boys and girls 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12yrs old.

450gr TurboJav for boys and girls 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12yrs old.

600 gram Metal-Tipped Javelin for Girls & Boys 13-14, Girls 13-18+yrs old

For athletes who already have running spikes/flats the javelin heel is recommended for adding heel traction during the plant.
